LATISSE™ (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the
latest innovation for eyelashes. But it certainly isn't the
first.
In 4000 BC men and women of ancient Egypt used "Eye
Paint" known as kohl, a powdery mix of soot and metal,
to define eyes, eye lashes and brows.
In the 1800s the Victorian age, some women created their own
homemade mascaras, utilizing ashes, elderberry and Castrol
Oil for lush alluring eyelashes.
In the 1920's the first eyelash curler (known as Kurlash),
eyeliner pencils and false eyelashes debuted. Marline
Dietrich, Greta Garbo and Bette Davis donned thicker, fuller
lashes on screen. Millions of fans followed suit.
In 1989, Max Factor, a brand with roots in the film and
television makeup industry, launched "No Color Mascara".
This earned the 'Outstanding Product of the Year" award from
the beauty industry's Rex Awards.
In 2009 latisse debuts and is making history
